The late Joyce Marriott, mother of founder and CEO of Totally Male Limited – Sandra Samuels who was the other director died 5 years ago on Labour Day (May 24, 2012). Every labour day the team at Totally Male finds a new location that deals with boys or men to offer their services. Joyce Marriott was a nurse for 38 years and was one of the most caring human beings – so we do it in her honour. In previous years, we have done the male wards at the UWI Hospital and her former place of work at the Spanish Town Hospital and now the Sunbeam Boys Home.
Sandra Samuels following in her mother’s footstep has also served as a Rotarian and has done work with the Glenhope Place of Safety and continue to do work with Alpha Institute for Boys. This is in keeping with the mandate of Totally Male in educating and demystifying the need for excellent grooming.
It is indeed our pleasure to assist in anyway that we can to build our Jamaican boys and men. Our 2017 Labour Day project was another successful event thanks to our sponsors Lasco, Grace, Cals, Jamaica Broilers and our clients who donated and shared the day with us. Team Totally Male was present with a few of our clients and friends to cut the boys hair, trim their nails, play football, ludo, cards, dominoes, video games, show movies and overall spreading a little joy – just as Joyce would.
